American Flyers Diving started off the high school post-season this week with Division 1 Sectional Meets at Solon High School & the University of Akron. AFD had divers competing from 6 different high schools and advanced 5 divers to next weeks District Championships and Cleveland State University.

On Wednesday at the Solon Girls Sectional, Sivan Mills of Solon started the post-season off right, coming from behind on her last dive to take over 1st place by less then 2 points. Maintaining 2nd place for most of the meet, Sivan needed just over 52 points on her final dive, inward double, to captures 1st place. A great dive earned Sivan 54 points and the 1st Sectional Championship of her high school career. Her score of 430.00 is good enough for the 2nd overall seed at districts.

Finishing 6th was Taylor Epstein, also of Solon. Taylor set her personal best with a final score of 351.50. She will be diving at the district meet for the second consecutive year after finishing 13th last season at CSU.
